What you get

Built around how a shop here runs.

At the till

A till that keeps up with the queue.

Scan or search, take the money the way the customer has it, and close the drawer knowing the count.

  • Cash, mobile money or credit
  • Barcode scanner and printed receipts
  • IMEI or serial captured when you sell a phone

Example of the register screen: three items in the cart totalling eight hundred and five Leones, with cash, mobile money and credit as ways to pay.

Example printed receipt for a sale of eight hundred and five Leones, paid with one thousand in cash and one hundred and ninety-five given back as change.

On the shelf

Know what's on the shelf before the customer asks.

Every product with its photo, price and barcode, and a warning before it runs out or expires.

  • Low-stock warning at the level you set
  • Expiry dates for medicine and food
  • Stock take, with a reason for every change

Example inventory list with a low-stock item, an item close to expiry and two items in stock.

Credit book

Know exactly who owes you, and how much.

Sell on credit at the till. The balance keeps itself, so nobody argues over the notebook.

  • A running balance for every customer
  • Record a payment when it comes in
  • See who is overdue in the credit-aging report

Example customer account: Aminata Kamara owes four hundred and fifty Leones, with her credit and payment history and a record-payment action.

The books

See where the money went this month.

Sales, expenses and what you took out for yourself, added up for you in Leones.

  • Expenses, income and owner drawings
  • Net profit for the month
  • Every register session matched to its drawer

Example month summary on a dark card: sales, expenses and net profit, with a bar for each day of the week.

People

Your cashier sees the till. Only you see the profit.

Owner, manager and cashier each get the screens for their job, across every shop you run.

  • Owner, manager and cashier roles
  • Switch between your shops in one account
  • Each shop keeps its own stock and register

Example of the role switcher with Cashier selected: the till and today's sales are open, stock, money and staff are locked.

On every counter

One account. Every device in the shop.

A phone or laptop works today. Dedicated Android, iPhone, POS terminal and cash register apps are next — a sale rung up on any of them shows on the owner's phone straight away.

  • Phone

The web app in your browser. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

    Available today
  • Tablet or laptop

The full shop console — stock, customers, money and staff — on a bigger screen.

For your customers

GEDA, a marketplace for Freetown's shops.

We're building it now. Your shop will get a storefront, and shoppers will be able to search across shops, order, and pay cash or mobile money on delivery.

Your shop will stay hidden until you choose to list it.

Preview of the GEDA marketplace, still being built: a product grid with four products and their prices.

Getting started

Three steps, then you're selling.

  1. Create your account

Your name, phone and a password. Set up your shop once you're in.

  2. Add your products

A photo, a price and how many you have. Invite staff when you're ready.

  3. Open the till and sell

The register opens itself. Ring up the first sale and it shows on your dashboard.

Questions

What shopkeepers ask us.

Do I need special equipment?

No. A phone, tablet or laptop with a browser is enough. A plug-in barcode scanner and a receipt printer work if you have them.

Does it work without internet?

A sale needs a connection. The till tells you plainly when you're offline, and a sale that didn't send can be sent again without charging twice.

Can my cashier see my profit?

No. A cashier sees the till and the day's sales. Money, staff and subscription are for the owner.

Can I sell on credit?

Yes. Pick the customer at the till and their balance updates. Record the payment when it comes in.

Can customers buy from me online?

Not yet. GEDA, our marketplace, is being built. Your shop will get a storefront there, and shoppers will pay cash or mobile money on delivery.

Is there an app?

Not yet. The web app works on your phone, tablet or laptop today, and can go on your home screen. Android and iPhone apps are being built, along with dedicated POS terminal and cash register devices.

How do I get help?

Signed in, use “Report issue” on any screen. Before that, use the contact form on the sign-in page.

Open the account tonight. Open the till tomorrow.
